This Creepy Thriller

This Dramatic Portrait
In the battle between faith and wealth, it's a knockout win for greed in this director's wonderfully garish film adaptation regarding the shamed religious broadcaster plus her lawbreaking partner. Garfield portrays the corrupt Bakker, who declares initially, claiming divine approval for wealth. Both individuals set about monetising the American public's Christian beliefs. It's an extravaganza of poor styling, bad makeup and hypocrisy, though the lead actress succeeds to show Tammy Faye as a sympathetic figure. Next Tuesday, 1.15am, the Film4 channel
